Infinix Note 8i

Infinix Note 8i was launched on 15th October 2020 together with Infinix Note 8 and can be said to be a toned version of the former. It has a dimension of 171.4 x 77.7 x 8.9mm and features 3 colours: Gray, Blue, and Green. The front has a 6.78-inch touchscreen display that has a resolution of 720×1640 pixels and an 82.0% screen to body ratio. It has been powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 processor and comes with 6GB RAM. It runs on Android 10 and has been further powered by a 5200mAh battery which supports fast charging.

The camera setup has a Quad camera set up of 48MP central camera, a 2MP camera, a third 2MP camera, and a fourth 2MP at the backside. The rear camera also has autofocus while the front comes with a dual camera set up that contains a single 8MP camera. The device runs XOS 7.1 and has been based on Android 10 which packs 128GB of inbuilt storage that can be further expanded with a micro SD card of up to 2000 GB dedicated slot. Infinix Note 8i is a dual SIM and accepts both Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM cards.

DESIGN

Aesthetically speaking, this device has a beautiful look that matches that of Infinix Note 8. There is a shiny color gradient spotted at the back which makes it appear premium while it comes in the colors of Gray, Blue, and Green. The dimensions of Infinix Note 8i are 171.4 x 77.7 x 8.9mm which make it to be of average build. Similar to what we saw in Note 8, you will find a power button with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and volume buttons at the right.

The left side has the dual SIM card slot and an additional slot for the micro SD card while the bottom part has an interesting set up that holds the USB Type-C charging, microphone, speaker grille, and headphone jack. The phone comes with fairly thin bezels, especially at the front.

You are wawed with the 6.78 inch LCD screen that has a punch hole cutout holding the Single 8MP camera. The top section also has the earpiece grille which combines with the bottom blaring speaker to offer stereo sound. Upon flipping the phone over to the back you will see an Infinix Logo and a rectangular camera bump which plays house to the quad AI-powered camera set up that houses the 48MP main camera,2MP depth camera, and a 2MP macro camera as well as an extra 2MP AI lens and a quad-LED flash. You will also enjoy authentication security measures such as face unlock and fingerprint Biometrics with your Infinix Note 8i.

DISPLAY

Viewing content with a 6.78-inch screen will be the utmost bliss as you will get to enjoy a full HD experience that is not limited to any extent. The widescreen device has an aspect ratio of 20.5:9 and is perfect for movies while the peak brightness of 480 nits is simply impressive. While spotting a punch-hole cutout and Infinity O display that was seen in Infinix Note 7 Lite users will have a cinematic screen with a resolution of 720×1640 pixels and which can be used outdoors without any strain.

PERFORMANCE AND SOFTWARE

Bid goodbye to the frustrating instances of having your phone lagging once you have the Infinix Note 8i lands on your hands.  Thanks to the octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 processor that is similar to that of Infinix note 8 and is also an upgrade of what was seen from Infinix Hot 10 (Helio G70). The processor is an all-rounder and delivers excellent performance that is simply out of the question. It is more fluent than even what we got from the powerful Infinix Note 7 and does an exemplary job when it comes to gaming. The device incorporates Mali G52 GPU which has an incredible 14% image rendering while the whole processor scores a 35% benchmark score of Antutu when it comes to performance. The capable 6GB RAM is a lifesaver as it is used in enhancing swiftness.

Infinix Note 8i runs on XOS 7.1software and comes with features such as a Game mode that allows non-disruptive gaming. There is also the inclusion of Social Turbo that improves the gaming speed. Other features that include those of Android 10 are system-wide dark mode and Digital well-being.

CAMERA

You will never be disappointed with the photo studio-like camera setup that comes with this pone. The full set that comprises high definition cameras allows users to capture all of their beautiful moments with greater clarity and vivid details. There are 4 cameras at the back while the front has 2 cameras. The rear has a 48MP central camera,2MP depth camera,2MP macro camera, and a 2MP lens. The front part has a single 8MP camera with a Dual-LED flash.

The 48 primary camera is a downgrade from the 64MP that was featured in Infinix note 8. However, it still supports clarity while the 2MP macro lens gives out an authentic close-range shooting effect making every detail to be better than ever. The portrait lens blurs the background and separates subjects from it making the object in question to be the only focus.

The 8MP front camera is similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy A20s and can provide improved selfie qualities with features such beauty camera in mind.

BATTERY 

Having the Note 8i will give you a powerful 5200mAh battery that has super long endurance and is similar to that of Note 8. The battery sits in the same range as those of Xiaomi Note 10 Lite and Redmi Note 9 Pro and has also been embedded with the Power marathon which enables it to have higher longevity levels.
